We introduce CARB gasoline
The effort to meet June 1, 1996, California Air Resources Board (CARB) requirements for cleaner burning gasoline has involved virtually every organization in Products. Many are contributing to the current roll-out.
Since March 1, L.A. Refinery has been shipping only CARB gasoline. This was the culmination of many years' effort and hundreds of millions of dollars in cost. The Supply group has made exchanges for more CARB gasoline to balance ARCO's system. Products' terminals are converting their tanks to CARB gasoline by April 15.
By June 1, ARCO stations in California will be selling only CARB gasoline. Coincident with the CARB roll-out, retail marketing has begun instituting a new consistent, cleaner look and new product names--EC Unleaded, EC Unleaded Plus, and EC Unleaded Premium. It has also been providing franchisees information on CARB gasoline.
Products' public relations people are helping educate the
media, government officials, and the public about the new gasoline.
